Long time no see = “hisashiburi”

Wow, it’s been such a long time since I last wrote something on the blog. So the appropriate word here would be ひさしぶり(hisashiburi), meaning it’s been a long time. Long time can be years but also a couple of weeks, depending on the frequency you see this person normally.  You can use ‘hisashiburi’ like a little remark, ‘hey, long time no see!’ in a casual talk with friends or colleagues . If you want to be more polite for example talking to your teacher, neighbors or  acquaintances, you can add ‘o’ and end with ‘desu.’ So it becomes ‘ohisasiburidesu’ おひさしぶりです。
